Bible ministry in Myanmar (Formerly known as Burma) was started by the British and Foreign Bible Society in 1889. Due political change in 1962, the ministry was reorganized as independent and autonomous Bible Society of Myanmar in 1964, led by national leaders.

Our Work
The Bible Society of Myanmar is a member of United Bible Societies (Global family of Bible Societies more than 146 members) since 1969.
All activities of the Bible Society of Myanmar is inline with the guide line of UBS Philadelphia Promise (2016).
Being a member of UBS, Bible Society of Myanmar of closely working together with the global fellowship for making the Word of God available.
To bring the WORD of God to the heart of the people, the Bible Society of Myanmar is closely partnering together with the churches. The most activities are annual Bible Competition, annual Singing Competition, and celebrating the Bible Day (August third week) in and out of the country.
The Bible Society of Myanmar chooses yearly theme by which Bible Engagement activities are implemented. Theme for 2018 is “God’s Word: Hope for PEACE” and for 2019 “God’s WORD for Next Generation”.
The Bible Society of Myanmar is striving every effort to connect with the Churches which will strengthen a sense of ownership, closer partnership, prayer support and financial support.
